The vehicle of choice is a Honda HR-V as it is easy to get in and out of and has a 5-star safety rating.

I carry 2 booster seat bases for children for those unexpected trips,  I am happy to use your car seat if they are made available and advised of your preference to do so.  If you book in advance or where possible we will have the backs to the booster seats made available but as they take up significant space in the vehicle they are not standard.  The Brand of Booster Seats is Safety 1st - Xtreme Safe (Air) protect superior side impact protection and have high backs that are adjustable.  The manufacturer advises they are suitable for ages 3-12 years / 15-36kgs.

Non-Smoker: All vehicles and transport must be smoke-free.

New Zealand Citizen: I was born in NZ.

Please understand that I am being employed as a companion/caregiver or childminder but not as a medically trained nurse or full-time nanny.  I am primarily being employed to help assist with someone's well-being and making this as enjoyable and stress-free as possible.

Interests:

I love to travel to places I haven’t been and am particularly interested in history, art and culture. I have travelled extensively and understand how to get about safely, what to do and avoid to have an enjoyable trip.

I enjoy looking around museums and art galleries along with sightseeing; having seen my fair share of Churches, Cathedrals and Castles.  I also enjoy attending cultural events such as shows, ballets, operas, orchestras, musicals and plays.  I enjoy baking and decorating celebration cakes and making slices.  I like meeting and working with a wide variety of people as this is what makes life interesting for me.

My Story:

I am a conscientious individual who loves to help people. I have noticed increasing pressure with work/life balances and how some people really struggle to address all the promises they make first to themselves and secondly to family and friends with the commitment to their communities and work.

After realising I was one of many trying to balance too much at work and left myself no time for anything else. I have been working on redressing the imbalance in my life and wanted to do more to help others.  It was apparent when I received a call from my brother to come and help for a few days with his family commitments that many people are really busy and sometimes you can’t say no or offload the work onto someone else as there isn’t someone with your skill set or knowledge.  I have taken on a greater role to support my mother more as the year's progress and realise that many of her friends also need help and support also but family members aren't always available, as most people have very busy schedules.

Sue to the rescue provides access to a bit of extra support with those things to ensure no-one is missing out and that everybody gets to do the things they enjoy while being cared for.

I come from a background of Hospitality Management and following through with more than 10 years of practical experience before moving onto Auction, Planning & Facilities Administration.  I now enjoy helping people with their activities and started the company Sue to the Rescue Limited.
