Short-term Childcare Aged 4+

Short-term Childcare Aged 4+

Last Minute, Short-Term Childcare/Babysitting - Supporting parents & caregivers with their everyday lives and during last-minute childcare challenges.

Aged 4 years plus so your child can communicate their needs e.g., being hungry, thirsty, needing to use the bathroom, feeling unwell or understanding when it is bedtime.

Maximum of 3 children at one time to ensure safe supervision and quality time with each child.

Childcare takes place in your home, within familiar surroundings or I provide transport to suitable activities and provide supervision throughout.

Booster seats (2) available. The suitability of these will depend on your child's age, size and at your discretion.  I carry the seat bases for children for those unexpected trips,  I am happy to use your car seat/s if they are made available and advised of your preference to do so.  If you book in advance we will have the backs to the booster seats made available but as they take up significant space in the vehicle they are not standard.

There is no 'one size fits all' when it comes to childcare so my services are flexible to include school pick-ups, drop-offs, transport to extracurricular activities and meal preparation.

Some coordination is required to ensure access to keys & alarm codes, security clearance for school pick-ups, discussing medical or behavioural needs and where possible, arranging an introduction prior to engagement.

Perhaps your nanny has called in sick, or your child is too unwell for school and you have prior commitments; Sue to the Rescue could arrange a pick-up at short notice, stopping at your workplace to collect keys if necessary.

School holidays and weekends are the perfect time for activities! If you've promised an outing but suddenly can't commit; contact Sue to the Rescue and have a professional, caring person provide transport and supervision so your child doesn't miss out. You may already have something planned, but if you don't, I have loads of ideas including:

  • Inflatables World, Megazone or Leap/Jump (Trampolining)

  • Extreme Edge (Rockclimbing)

  • Skycity Tenpin Bowling

  • MiniGolf

  • Zoo

  • Chipmunks

  • The Fun Shed

  • Waterworld Pools & Hydroslide...

  • Libraries

  • Exscite at the Hamilton Museum

  • A movie at the Cinema

  • A trip to a dedicated Children's Park; Lake Domain, Gardens or Claudelands...

      - Please note entry fees or charges are additional.

The vehicle is large enough to accommodate two-three small bicycles or scooters so if that's what your child or children enjoy, I can take them to the park, we can even meet up with their friends at a pre-arranged spot or stop off at a cafe for a drink and snack on the way home.

Children’s  Extracurricular Activities

Dance, drama, gymnastics, music, sports, tutoring, swimming... the list goes on!

We all know how busy families can be, and with all those extracurricular activities you'll be stretched for time! Sue to the rescue is available for transporting your child to their activity, supervision, advocate when needed and feedback any important information to you. So whether you have two places to be at the same time, or you just want to take a morning or afternoon off to grab a coffee with friends - we can step for you.

Cooking and Meal Preparation

We can cook or prepare meals or snacks, just advise what everyone will eat as most people have preferences.

Maybe your child likes baking. Sue to the Rescue is happy to supervise and assist your children while they bake and & or decorate; allocating jobs to maintain safety and baking quality!

Any specific dietary requirements can be catered to such as allergies, gluten intolerance, vegetarian or dairy-free... Just let us know in advance so we can be prepared.
